Maude's Art Arena

Families and younger visitors can find free art activities and demonstrations for all ages at this year's Maude's Art Arena. Maude's Art Arena gives the younger crowd the chance to enjoy art - creating arts and crafts and enjoying the displays provided by Maude Kerns Art Center.

Join in the fun! Free art activities in different media are offered in Maude’s Art Arena:


PRINTMAKING

Decorate paper gift bags using premade blocks and stamps. Once the bag has dried, it can be used for program info, brochures, and finished artwork.


PAINTING

Create interesting nonrepresentational textures with bubble watercolor paintings and/or watercolor paintings with cling wrap or other found objects.


DRAWING

Join in creating a large collaborative drawing with different drawing media in the style of artist Paul Klee’s “Take a Line for a Walk” exercise.


SCRATCHBOARD

Learn about subtractive techniques using multicolor or metallic scratchboard. Animal references and transfer paper will be available.
